Citadel International Equities 48hr Case

This is for Citadel's IE (Asia) SA 2025. Have progressed to the PM rounds and informed that I will have a case study to complete in 2 days. Just not sure what to expect, would appreciate any tips or guidance!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some tips and guidance for preparing for a case study at Citadel, particularly for the International Equities (Asia) SA 2025:

  1. Understand the Expectations:

    • Each PM (Portfolio Manager) may have different expectations based on their specific needs, experience level, and trading style.
    • Be prepared to demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively during the interview process.
  2. Case Study Preparation:

    • You might be required to cover multiple names and provide detailed analysis. For example, you could be asked to cover 50 names trading between quarters and then focus on 10 extensively.
    • Prepare to pitch structured ideas with comprehensive memos and models. A 10-page memo with a detailed model could be a good benchmark.
  3. Key Skills to Demonstrate:

    • Analytical skills: Show your ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
    • Communication skills: Clearly articulate your thought process and findings.
    • Flexibility: Be ready to adapt to different scenarios and requirements from the PM.
  4. General Advice:

    • Think long-term about your career rather than viewing the job as a stepping stone.
    • Be prepared for a rigorous and detailed evaluation process.
  5. Resources:

    • Utilize the Financial Modeling Resources and Excel Resources available on WSO.
    • Consider participating in relevant bootcamps such as the Financial Modeling & Valuation 2-Day Bootcamp.

Good luck with your case study!

Guessing this is for HK?

Had friends in the later waves and there's been already a wave of rejections (some had strong backgrounds so was surprised). Think SG filled already (1 of 1?) but HK should just be starting. Not much color on this other than how most of them would want a native Mandarin speaker/well-versed in China/HK markets. Good luck!

Hi, no clue about that as I'm not from SG. The friends were rejected but I don't think I heard of anyone getting an offer? Have some understanding of the industry and there are only a few teams in SG, and to my understanding, only 1 team looking to hire. It's pod-dependent unlike the banks per se and the process tends to be a crapshoot at times.

Am not with C so take the above with a grain of salt (informed guesses/general knowledge of the MMHF scene), but wish you all the best regardless!

Hi - my case was basically: what do you think of company (is it a long or short), what are the key drivers, what does the business do, what questions do you have for management, what would you do with more time. I just went through the Point72 test and case study and found a really good website; hycalibre(dot)com (WSO won’t let me post for some reason). They have a 48h Citadel case study there too (with a model) - and I assume P72 and Citadel tests will be similar. I found Hycalibre case study really helpful to understand what do to/what I should be expected to produce in the short time frame. Really recommended. Good luck and hope that helps!
