Credit hedge fund case study
Folks,
Have a case study coming up with a SS credit hedge fund - can anyone share their experience on this? Any info on what to expect, how this is different from a lev fin case study, any recommended preparation materials, etc would be great.
Also, when speaking about lev fin most people assume you syndicate debt out - why is this the case? It seems like a few Bankers I've met have been at banks where they hold their credit positions to maturity.

For what level are you interviewing? Case studies can differ a lot, ie depends if it's an in-office case study or take-home, or if you're interviewing on cycle as IB analyst or for a post MBA role..
Interviewing for 1st year associate - expecting half a day at the office for the case study - likely some unique financing scenario?
If this is a public markets-focused fund I would expected a blank excel with 10-K', Q's etc and expect to do a three statement, cap structure buildout and a thesis on where to invest in the cap structure. Focus on brushing up credit analysis and supplement with distress/SS specific investing framework.

I do not, but the best way to practice would be to just pick up different 10-K's and practice modeling and thinking through a thesis on a maybe 3-4 hour timer
