DDJ Capital Management - Brand/Exits/Investment Strategy

Hi guys,

I recently came across DDJ Capital Management, an $8bn High Yield Opportunistic boutique fund near Boston that's been investing in HY since the 1990s, but it doesn't seem to get many mentions on WSO. Aside from the fact that they do some aggressive CCC bottoms-up investing, does anyone have any other information about the fund and how they operate? It looks like they started out as a distressed fund and morphed their strategy more into stressed/upper tier, but have stayed relatively small in terms of headcount despite an $8bn AUM. To the extent you're aware, is DDJ viewed positively by other credit funds in Boston/NY like Bain Capital Credit, Putnam, Apollo, GSO etc.?

Any input is welcome, thanks!
