DE SHAW Trader/Analyst role
Hi everyone,
perhaps a bit of a simplistic question but was wondering if anyone had some colour on DE Shaw's trader/analyst role and what it entails more specifically. Read the job description and feels pretty fundamental oriented, but was wondering if this in fact an execution role, or say something more quant oriented etc... Any details surrounding the role or process for it would be fantastic!
Deeply grateful to anyone that can help on this, to precise, I'm looking at the summer internship!
Apply, get rejected, move on. And I say this so you don’t fall in love with a role that is unbelievably hard to get into. Especially an internship. If you qualify, apply. Odds are you’ll get interviews for roles you don’t even like. But apply for the company, make up some bs about “why this role” if you don’t even want that position, and then once you get a return offer just move internally (within reason).

Most likely they are just traders like everywhere else. What trading position are you referring to specifically (L/S, macro/commodity or options)?
