Dubai-based hedge funds

How active is the L/S hedge fund space in Dubai? Is it developed or still nascent?

Are there mostly private investments arms of HFs based there? Or public equities units covering EMEA & Asia are quite common?

Do companies & sell-side travel frequently to Dubai for meetings or is an area with a still scarce coverage?

What are the pros/cons of working there with respect to cities like London and NYC?

I know there are a few 5bn+ HFs in Abu Dhabi next to Dubai, mostly managing royal money outside of SWF structure. I believe all are ADGM members so you can check there for list. UAE markets are still dominated by SWF money so most networking would be within or adjacent to Dubai World, ADIA or Mubadala

Anyone know what the recruitment process for these would be for undergrads studying in the UK? Quite a few HFs have opened there and I'm keen to move to Dubai
