Experience and advice dealing with HH

Some recruiting firms have various HHs reaching out on different opportunities, lots in corp dev or PE that aren't really interesting to me but I kept in touch in case they have opportunities that could be interesting. Some firms I only have one contact, such as DSP, know they represent lots of HF that I might be interested in but I've only got introduced to 1 or 2 meetings. I've been  specific about what I'm looking for in terms of funds strategy to all HHs I have talked to, didn't name any funds specific but I def have top 5 funds I would want to work at. On buyside now and have been a little out of touch with HHs. Got my current job without HH, unhappy at my fund, and need to recruit again, which sucks. What's the best approach to cast a wider net of opportunities? Should I re-connect with all HHs I worked with before? Should I be more proactive with my contact at DSP without looking too eager? TBH, besides DSP, no other HH has presented any interesting opportunities yet, maybe I don't know enough HHs?

Do you have HH you trust? Reach out to them and see if they can help. Funny enough, for my case I got job offers up until now from random HH, instead of the ones that I have known and trusted for a while. Also when you speak to HH, see if you can get to talk to the people/fund before officially submitting your CV. Once HH have your CV in their DBs, they send it to all kinds of clients which makes your current employer to figure out at some point. Try to search for the HH that are well known in particular type of strategies/sectors/areas that you are interested in.

Thanks, yea I have one HH I know, worked with in the past and generally can trust her. My gut says the market should be relatively busy but I haven't seen/she hasn't sent across many interesting opportunities. She did say public seats are less than private seats, and I have no interest in private, I understand the AUM growth under private and the appeal of it, it's just not interesting to me
