Would love to hear folks’ thoughts on Farallon. Anecdotal comp figures (throughout levels of seniority), tid bits on culture, process, what they’ve been focusing on recently…anything really.
For how large it is, hear / know very little about it and the other large multi-strats.

No - one of the platforms.
I understand it is a top fund, but how do you know/what makes you that?
Have friends who did internships with them after winning some kind of stock pitch(?) and they express a similar sentiment
How is their credit side?
VERY goated, deviously smart people
Extremely buttoned-up group of guys. Very academic and bookworm-y culture. SF is not optimal, but they seem to get outside on evenings and weekends.
In terms of comp, one of their senior guys recently set a record for the most expensive land purchase in Hawaii. I think that should tell you what you need to know.
curious on junior / mid-level comp, as senior rainmaker comp doesn't always trickle down
Know someone who joined outta undergrad. Don’t think pays as much as IB/PE at the most junior level (0-4 YOE). Beyond that, no idea
How much at most junior to your knowledge?
mid level comp is variable, you eat what you kill and are paid a % of your p&l. have potential to make a lot if you do well with benefit of having a track record

The L/S equity side downsized significantly after 08-09, but now is more focused. Take it if you have the chance.
