Formulaic Compensation for Senior Analyst
What's the range of formulaic payouts for an experienced senior analyst and long-biased single manager fund (say ~$1B AUM, with 2&20 fee structure)?
I'm thinking about someone with ~5yrs of experience and clear coverage universe / P&L attribution.
What a reasonable % of P&L to ask for?
Range is 2-7%
More common is 3-5%
Are these percentages based on individual pnl or overall fund pnl?
Lol come on. 5% of overall fund is 1/4 of the bonus pool. $10M in a 20% year. Does that sound realistic to you?

A much better way to ask/answer the question is in terms of the team’s bonus pool. because % payouts vary, if you go into any discussion with a specific % from here that is way out of context for your firm (either way) then you’ll look like an idiot.
