have you ever seen someone being helped in recruiting bc they started a blog writing about finance?
seeing someone else do this, and im wondering if it ever works beyond just doing it for your own interest? would it ever come in interviews/be seen as a plus point when recruiting?
Obviously it’s helpful as an EC. How impactful it would be would likely depend on popularity of blog and relevance of content to firm you’re applying for.
Probably not the most effective or success-guaranteed thing to start doing, but could be a fun EC on the side

Incidentally the last one I've followed is the Value Situations author who already had many years of experience and had some interesting reads, they've since shut it down because of a new HF job offer.
Unlikely they got hired because of the blog, more likely the blog was something they happened to be doing.
Possible it can work for juniors too, as long as it is high quality and not being substituted for work experience. Tough to say without knowing your background.
