Hedge Fund administration
I have an opportunity to work at a hedge fund administration firm and was wondering what the possible exit opportunities would be? I don't really see any relation to investment banking but could it possibly lead to a job at a hedge fund? I appreciate any information you can give me.
Maybe in OPS. Buy side OPS is probably the best, "regular" job anyone can get.

I have an offer with a company that provides fund services for hedge fund. How related is this to banking? I'm a sophomore looking for a school year internship, and I want to ultimately get into investment banking. Should I take this, or should I try to find a banking internship, which seems really hard to find during the school year.
This is not related to investment banking. Hedge Fund Admin services are like prime brokers. Think of this job as a sales and trading operations role. You will probably deal with trade breaks, clearing and custodying securities, that kind of stuff. probably not very glamorous, definitely not related to investment banking, but a job is a job.
the work will be mindless and operational you are far better off doing this type of work at an actual hedge fund because then at least you might have exposure to front office people like PM's Traders etc. but at a fund services shop everyone there will be ops people
let's just say that it will help "demonstrate your interest in finance"
