Hedge fund compensation

Hello guys, I what do you think about the compensation? do they seem low? I have some points to make. It seems like the only positions that pay more than the tech are VP and MD. So what is the percentage of people that make it to that level? And if you fail what are the alternatives? On the other hand, you could get a 300k salary in tech firms with much more security. Also what is your opinion on the culture of hedge funds vs technology? Do you think it is still worth it to go into HF ? Where do you think the salaries will be in 10 years from now?

Hah - Just to give you a hand here. Your writing style is.... strange. Outside of that, basic compensation figures are available in a lot of places. Outside of that, asking whether to do "tech" or hedge funds is not something a forum will help you with. Learn about these industries first and stop fantasizing about paydays - I assume you are a college freshman (at least that is how you sound). Yea people pursue this industry for money, but the people who are only doing that never make it far. There are a huge number of different roles in both industries. A little less retarded question could be: "I am a comp sci major and I am trying to understand the kinds of problems I would work on / the available positions to me if I pursued the HF industry, and what the career progression / options are like vs. traditional tech paths". Still not a great question and even then, you could diligence most of that by using google. Cheers

they don't sound like a college freshman, they sound like they're 11...but they're certainly not 11 so the entire post is weird as fuck and starts off with assumptions they've made but aren't communicating to us.

its like its been ran through google translate 5 times.

last years all financial news on e-financial careers talk about the decline of the financial sector. Personnel and bonuses reduction. I have been working for 3 years as a trader and have many friends who have the same impression. Do you have any idea what are the salaries of the jobs of London that were outsourced to other countries such as Poland? please take a look for yourself.

I’m not following anything you are saying. Are you trying to say tech is a better path than finance (for the 1000th time on this site)? They are different career paths, for people with different interests, and require different type of thinking (especially HF vs tech). Both have great comp and different ceilings and job security. Nothing has really changed (and I am not seeing comp go down in HF, this will be my highest earning year).
