Hedge Fund Summer Analyst to Investment Banking at BB/EB?
I will be interning this summer(summer after junior year) at a mid-size fund that operates an event driven, cap structure agnostic mandate under one team/one PM. (Empyrean, Owl Creek, Nut Tree, etc). My goal is to get some solid experience there and then hopefully recruit for banking full time and place in an EB or upper tier BB. I know that these are high expectations but I believe I am capable.
FYI, I recruited for SA programs last year but unfortunately decided to do IB/finance too late and despite getting interviews with a few BB's and one EB, I never made it past the Superday. I made some solid connects who said they would support me through the FT process.
Is this jump from buy to sell side doable (semi-target, economics/business, 3.8 GPA, student athlete? And if so what is my best approach?
Congrats on Nokota!
Those are all good funds, why not go back?
unlikely i will get a return
