HF exits
I'm curious since I keep hearing that the average HF career is ~4 years. What do you do afterwards? Can you get into PE/ private markets? Do you take up an investing job?

Career Resources
Get rich during HF stint. Go farming after exiting.
Can you get rich in 4 years though (i.e. seems unlikely if you work at a podshop starting as an associate?)
2 yrs Banking, 2 yrs associate + senior associate at citadel, 2yrs analyst there. U can pull MSD millions as analyst there
Hedge fund usually is the exit, so it’s possible a lot of those guys just retire and work some job that’s less stress and more fun, since money isn’t an issue anymore
Prison!...After stevie cohen throws you under the bus for insider trading
Could you exit to the easier life of an LO PM/senior analyst?
Think about how few of those seats there are vs how many of the pod shop mcseats there are … exceedingly rare
I know a guy that left to become a gym teacher in Long Island and a guy that got a job at Costco and is learning coding (both made enough money to not care)
Costco...like in the actual warehouse?
Wait you have to tell us more about this costco guy--you can't leave us hanging like that
Yes - in the warehouse - literally think he does it just to get out of the house.
One of my friends at a pod shop developed a very strong relationship over the years with IR and management of one of his companies under coverage and went to go work for them after he burned out of the HF lifestyle.
Honestly, this does not sound bad at all. Would corpdev be realistic as well?
Back to investment banking (VP Director level) - better comp and arguably less stress but worse lifestyle
Corp development

CIO of startup fund which 90% means trading own PA with 1-2 F&F clients
