Interested in buy-side career: Advice for rising junior in undergrad?
I'm a rising junior at a target, and only this summer I've found real interest in finance. I've been interning at an AM firm and really enjoyed the fast-paced aspects of the job that are more akin to HF.
I pretty much missed the recruiting timeline for IB, but that's ok with me since I really would like to just intern at a buy-side firm for summer 2025 (the summer b4 my senior year). I understand this is a harder path to go down, but I have been applying to fundamentals internships at HF and AM shops.
Where else should I apply? Am I too late into the process? And if anyone has tips for skills I should devote time to learn for the remainder of this summer, I'm open to any advice thanks. Rn my modeling skills are shit but I have a good grasp of other fundamentals. Thanks
Learn to model
apply to ib
Try to get a banking internship for junior summer. Then apply to P72 Academy full-time or one of the other grad programs.
Learn how to model and you can also look at sell side equity research for summer opportunities
