Juniors who landed interviews for Quant Research roles at Citadel, Two Sigma, Jump Trading, Algo Developer at HRT, or Quantitative Developer role at D.E Shaw, can you share your GPA?
I'm currently a sophomore (just neglect my username) at a non-target school, and I will intern at FB next summer and Google next Fall. However, my GPA got hit this recruiting season, and now I'm having a 3.6 GPA.
My goal is just to pass resume screen for quant research internships at those firms, the only ones I know of that hire students with a Bachelor's, to try myself. I grasped the material in Combinatorics and Probability well, loved those classes, but only got 2 B's as my problem solving and, more likely, testing skills (since I got right answers but lost a lots of points in the process) need much improvement, and I'm willing to work hard on it.
Thank you for sharing.

Hope that helps.
Not a quant researcher myself but know two or three Friends who have landed such roles, as well as many others who have tried.
Don't wanna discourage you, but both of them had 3.9-4.0 GPAs with minimal effort in Math/CS.
Maybe you could try taking the Putnam or some other math competition?
If you can get an honorable mention or something they may still consider you. Prior internships for software at well-known places(e.g. fb, google) or research also seem to be welcome
No your answer is not discouraging at all. Thank you for a realistic view. I will wait and try for quant research roles in new grad when my GPA is around 3.8-3.9
