Late cycle career advice - HF vs LO vs ER FT offers right after college
I am a senior in college and have at three places - a ~3 bn long short shop, mega LO shop, and sell-side equity research. To protect anonymity, can't really disclose more details on the HF, but the LO is a household name, and the ER shop has very good II presence.
I am considering mostly the HF vs LO at thie point. The HF has been around for a long time, but I sourced the job myself and they do not really have a formal training program or prior junior analysts. The LO does have a program in place but pay is slightly lower.
I guess my question is do you guys think, at this late stage of the cycle, there's too much risk in going to a relatively small HF right out of school? Would you recommend grinding for 2-3 years at a bigger, more stable place first? Thanks.
Intern in HF - EquityHedge, shame nobody has responded. Maybe one of these topics will help:
