Lifestyle at Quant Trading Firms - DE Shaw Group, etc.

What is the lifestyle and hours like as a trader at firms like DESCO, Two Sigma, etc.? I'm assuming it isn't like Citadel where hours are 60+ per week. Is it more like a 9-5 sort of job, with a culture like tech firms? How is upper management and how do juniors get treated?

I’ve read that by and large, quant roles and hedge funds are never quite like tech culture. They simply cannot operate like Google, for example. However the money is good (normally on par or better than Google). Two Sigma leans more towards Citadel culture but not as extreme. I can’t speak for others.

Also get other data points better than my own, mine isn’t that solid.

Specify Two Sigma group / role as from anecdotal experience from friends it largely varies. Comp appears to be quite good along with good in-office benefits (ie gym, gym laundry, food etc)
