LO AM vs MM HF vs SM HF

Hi All,

Currently fortunate enough to be taking a decision on which of these 3 paths to pursue out of undergrad and was wondering what you all thought in terms of comp/intellectual stimulation.

I don’t care about prestige, or comp as much (though I am concious about somewhat large comp differences). The AM is Tier 1 (Fido/Well/TRowe)& MM HF as well (Millenium/BAM/P72/Citadel).

Please let me know!

in this hypothetical scenario where one has to choose from these 3 options, I think one would be smart enough to know the differences in each options and career outcomes in the near term... I don't understand the point of these questions from college kids who don't have any offers... I mean look at the forum and you'll find plenty of threads on differences b/w SMHF/LO AM/MMHF investing styles... pick the seat that is more stable + gives you best mentorship oppty and network out of college... MMHF is good if you can stomach the vol and have a reasonable chance of being re-podded if blown up, otherwise pick the LO unless it's a scaled SMHF which we don't know at all...

Why is MM a worse place to learn as a first gig? Isn’t it generally dependent on your PM and how much they’re willing to teach you

That is exactly where my thoughts came from. I took the LO offer because I think I’ll learn more than at the MM. I think that door will always stay open anyways.

With daily PnL pressures, you don't have time to iterate with someone new.

I have a guy with 2 years of post-undergrad experience and tried to spend as much time as possible when we were ramping, but once you have $400M+ deployed you just don't have time to go over 101 stuff with people.

Also just look at the success rates of Academy kids that don't get placed, etc.

You must have interviewed extensively to get the 3 offers, and presumably you also asked your interviewers about their intellectual stimulation in their current roles. So why don’t you share the color that you’ve received on the matter and then the forum can give you more targeted advice.

This is so obviously fake. Like bro you are not asking this question framed like this on wso if you have these 3 offers
