No analyst in AKO gets Bloomberg. Performance last year was poor so will be below HWM. Pay massively below market and will try sell it as a ‘training’. Very poor culture.

Avoid Gladstone at all costs - PM has very bad reputation. Burns through analysts.

Re AKO - what sort of comp are they paying for analysts? What is poor about their culture?

Bump -- any insight on Gladstone in London, UK? Comp/culture?

Haven't worked there but have friends who have. Terrible rep seems to be the consistent theme year-in/year-out. High churn of analysts in each vintage due to not getting paid and culture. Have a browse on LinkedIn and check yourself.

This means they're essentially always recruiting. Been getting calls from a dozen headhunters for analyst roles at Gladstone for as long as I can remember. Someone called it "the pinpoint partners of hedge funds, you just don't take their calls anymore" 😂

That said, one of the the few scaled l/s SMs on this side of the pond + done well on shorts.

Last I heard they seem to be searching high and low in the US for 2+2's to support sleeve analysts. Unsurprisingly struggling to get people in the door in London as they've been recycling the same story for years... "we're aware of rep, things are changing now tho we promise"

AKO ran a process to hire analyst (~5 years exp) last year, base GBP 80k, don't know about bonus or other incentives. Curious what's the longer-term comp because they do promote people to partner after a few years - are those just partner title or actually sharing economics?

Gladstone total comp GBP 300-500k (when all stars aligned), hours very long, culture bad but heard they're trying to change / improve recently
