I am at a strong M&A group with exposure to all types of vanilla and non-vanilla deals. Some of these have been opportunistic / event-driven plays where we have been lead advisor.
I have come across a few merger arb funds and was wondering what recruitment looks like for these places? What is the level of "fundmental" analysis required? What are interviews / case studies like?
