Please provide a good overview of models + skills for inputs :)
Hello,
I know this may ask quite a bit, but if anyone could answer or discuss the following points, it would be of great use! Feel free to just place any thoughts or comments about hedge fund modelling in general.
1. I was just wondering if someone would be kind enough to provide me with a good mini-guide to what models their fund or funds in general use for modelling. I would assume that event driven funds may use significantly different models from L/S funds? Maybe this is not the case and they are fundamentally similar.
2. What models are tested during interviews? I've seen three-stage models, but I would like to know if anyone has other opinions.
3. How do you come up with the overall skilled inputs for these models? I'm sure you've heard "garbage in, garbage out," but how do you put money in, money out? I understand that industry reports provide some good guidance, but I feel as if this would not be enough.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing your discussion about this!
