Post Case Study MMHF?
I passed the 5-hr case at a MM HF and had a convo with a member of their analyst development team for 30 mins the day after (this is technically the 6th round of the process).
Is the end in sight? Is it typically the case that the offer is yours to lose if you pass the case study?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, passing the case study at a hedge fund, especially at a MM HF, is a significant milestone in the interview process. However, it doesn't necessarily mean the offer is guaranteed. Typically, after the case study, there are still additional steps, such as interviews with senior members of the team, including potentially the founder, CIO, or head of strategy. These final rounds are often used to assess cultural fit, your passion for investing, and your ability to articulate your ideas under pressure.
While passing the case study is a strong indicator of your capabilities, the final decision often hinges on how well you perform in these subsequent interviews. It's fair to say that you're in a strong position, but the offer isn't entirely "yours to lose" until you've successfully navigated these final steps.
