re-recruiting/FT recruiting for HFs

Hey all,

Current junior at a top target (HYPW tier) I switched into finance not too long ago (after freshmen year). Worked at a 1B AUM venture fund sophomore summer, working term-time at a small (20M AUM) venture fund term-time right now), working at a top tier BB (GS/MS/JPM) next summer.

However, I'm pretty set that I want to be an investor, ideally in public equities or public/private funds. Basically, I think being a fundamental analyst at a HF is the move. However, I don't know what the FT recruiting for HFs looks like. I was at an OCR event for BAM not long ago, and the campus recruiter told me they don't do FT hiring and only hire from the internship.

This begs the question: which HFs do FT hiring, and what are relative sizes of FT classes? Want to know where I should focus my efforts. Any help is appreciated -- I don't know much about this process :)

Can span a few months, I had to interview during my SA. Tend to open right before/during SA season

Networking won’t really help ime. At least, I didn’t do it

Recruiting process isn’t really like banking/PE with referrals etc
