Graduate recruiting resume roast - HF/PE experience

Would anyone be willing to take a look and give advice on my bullet points? I'm a non-target but have worked very hard to get these work experiences and need as much help as I can. Any advice is much appreciated.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some key points to consider when refining your resume for graduate recruiting, especially with HF/PE experience:

  1. Resume Review:

    • Spend considerable time honing your resume.
    • Seek feedback from friends or professionals in the industry to improve it significantly.
  2. Bullet Points:

    • Clearly list all your deals, including transaction points, business characteristics, your opinion on the deal, and your responsibilities during the deal process.
    • Ensure each bullet point is concise and highlights your specific contributions and achievements.
  3. Skills Section:

    • Include relevant skills but avoid cluttering this section.
    • Demonstrate competency in each skill listed.
  4. Networking:

    • Start networking early with BBs, MMs, and EBs.
    • Be generally competent about the industry and stay updated with news on target firms (fund raises, new investments, etc.).
  5. Headhunter Outreach:

    • Reach out for initial conversations with headhunters and be specific about your interests.
  6. Profile Setup:

    • Set up profiles on relevant platforms like GoBuyside to stay informed about recruiting timelines and opportunities.
  7. Feedback Integration:

    • Be attentive and extract value from every person you speak to, even if they aren't hiring.
    • Use feedback to continuously improve your resume, cold emails, elevator pitch, and interview answers.

By following these guidelines, you can enhance your resume and increase your chances of success in the competitive HF/PE recruiting process.

overall not bad

- change font to times NR or calibri

- i get a lot of undergrad resumes and everyone likes to say they know 3-4 valuation methods. you wrote it twice on the resume - i'd delete both. no one really cares that you know how to spread comps haha

- in the bullet points, tell me more about the deal / types of bespoke analyses you did, as opposed to model outputs / technical analyses (ie scenario analysis). I expect that you already know the technical skills and can build a model - tell me the unique things you did / try to impress me

- remove modeling and analyses in add'l information

- add more interests with the new space (no longer need such a big indent once you remove the modeling analyses line)

- what is minitab?
