Should I go back to the sellside? Career advice

In year 4 on the buyside, but my passion for the job is declining mainly from the constant anxiety of watching every tick and P&L movement. In other words, I don't think being in a risk taking seat is for me as I had originally thought when I moved from the sellside (2 years prior to buyside).

I still like the research and markets, so I am considering moving back to the sellside. I don't want to be a lead analyst and the associate role, although terrible (you work a ton, but barely get paid - even less than sales counterparts), could be the most obvious path again. That being said, is it stupid to go to be a salesperson? Spec sales seems interesting, but there's few seats and rare openings.

Tough crossroads, are you in L/S or LO?

Regardless, the move is possible. I actually know a couple associates who went from pods to ss er coving the sector they have experience in. What if you went the corporate route? Corp Dev has most of the research functions you already possess but the only thing missing is the operational side of the business. There are roles in corporate that could absolutely use your skill set (Competitive Intelligence, from what I read, is literally ss research without publishing anything basically.) Being in sales could make sense but I kinda see that as a little demotion? Idk, it's something I haven't seen or experienced myself.

Keep the dialogue going, I'd be more than happy to act as a 3rd party, non-biased opinion giver.
