Special Situations Group Salary & Bonus
Hi all,
I'm interviewing for an Associate Portfolio Manager role at a global fund (>$1tn AUM, out of which $200bn is the alternatives business). The alternatives business, which is essentially a hedge fund, covers equity & Real Estate but focuses on credit & fixed income, which is its bread & butter.
The role sits in the Special Situations Group within Credit and covers all granular asset classes, including mortgages, consumer loans, credit cards, aviation, royalties, trade receivables and more. They also invest in non-performing loans.
Does anyone know what I should expect in terms of salary and bonus, preferably in GBP? Note that this is not Blackstone, KKR, Apollo, Millennium, Citadel. Of course, I understand that there can be large variations in pay on the buyside, but it would be very helpful to have a gauge.
Cheers team.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, the salary and bonus structure can vary significantly depending on the firm and the specific role. However, I can provide some general figures from the WSO dataset.
For a Senior Associate/AVP role in a Credit Fund/Direct Lending, the salary range is typically $150-200k with a 50-100% bonus. For a VP, the salary range is usually $175-235k with an 80-130% bonus. For a Principal/SVP, the salary range is generally $225-275k with a 100-150% bonus.
However, these figures are in USD and for roles based in the US. The compensation might be different in the UK and for the specific role you're interviewing for.
Remember, these are just estimates and actual compensation can vary based on a variety of factors including the firm's performance, the specific group's performance, and individual performance.
Good luck with your interview!
