SS ER to L/S HF recruiting…slow for all or is it just me?

Have been actively recruiting for L/S analyst seats for 6+ months with very little traction, after ~1 year away from SS ER. Have made it through the case study for a couple multi-manager processes, but location/seniority mismatch was an issue in the end. SMs are my goal but have been very quiet, as expected. Even posting ideas publicly (VIC, Sumzero, LinkedIn, etc) with positive feedback has led to very few interviews. Cold email replies are few and far between, and it’s always a “thx but we don’t have openings”. Is this just a case of bad luck trying to recruit in this market, or is it me?
