Starting own investment fund

Hey ya'll.

I am planning to start my own investment in the near future. My main focus would be small to mid-cap U.S. equities. If anyone on this website has a similar investing experience or interest, please feel free to share your success or lessons you had learned from your experience.

Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated.

I think it's a bit oversimplified the way you put it. I lot of nitty-gritty and detailing go into it. Like the regulations, series 65, Registered agents, state and federal securities law. Prime Broker, Lawyer, Trading Software, Custodian, Fund administrator and the likes.

Funniest

i started a fund a while ago. it went pretty well. the LPs (my parents) funded a robinhood account with $500 which i lost in about a week writing call options. the LPs committed another credit line and so i just started trading options in front of my firm's ratings changes which was way easier than doing all this gay research. got fired cus compliance had it in for me eventually. i'd do it again tho great experience.

fucking compliance

You can't write options with $500. You work in trading, how do you not know this? Lol. Looks like the douchebaggery, and arrogant attitude of your response ironically collapsed on itself.
