So hedge fund has been one of the most lucrative careers out there in Finance. Getting in can be very challenging but it is doable if you follow the following steps:
- Optimize your resume (key words, relevant experience, strong skills, good extracurricular activities)
- Apply at all the top Hedge Funds in your city or directly at Wall Street (Be flexible to relocate if needed)
- Network on LinkedIn with top Hedge Funds (send message, schedule a call)
- Get at least FRM or CFA (To start a hedge fund in the future you need to be certified)
- Get MBA afterwards when you have time (It is very good to have for management purposes)
Following these steps will put you ahead of your competitions and start getting interviews. During the interview be sure to make a good impression and talk with confidence. Emphasize on how you can add value to the hiring team and the organization. Follow up with effective letters of intent.
