Tips for breaking into Macro RV?

Hi monkeys. I am an analyst on a rates trading desk looking to break into a HF as a pod analyst / trader. Had a couple of processes in the last months with macro RV pods at some large funds, but could not convert into offers unfortunately. Looking to re-engage in recruitment in the upcoming year. What are the profiles / skills that macro RV PMs are looking for in candidates? What kind of points on CV / experiences would catch RV PM's attention? In general, how does hiring for rates RV from sell-side to buy-side usually happen? Recruiters or warm introductions? Thanks in advance.
