I am a executive at a major energy corporation considering making a transition into the energy hedge fund space. I understand that due to the nature of the industry, hedge funds operating/specializing in the traditional energy (oil and gas) sector prefer hiring experienced professionals from the energy industry over finance specialists.
I am formulating a list of top hedge funds (or teams of larger funds) operating/specializing in the energy industry (worldwide) and would appreciate any recommendations in this regard.
(There are some dated threads on WSO about this but due to the rapidly evolving nature of the rather nascent energy hedge fund industry, a more recent/updated list is required)

Anchor Bolt - Started by former Citadel PM, focused on cyclicals equities (industrials/energy/materials) with solid reputation. Based in Chicago.
Magnetar - More in the non-equities side (credit, derivatives) but has energy equities team. Also based in Chicago.
Point72 - One of the big 4 platform funds, cover all sectors, mutliple pods. Plenty of energy teams there I'm sure, unless they've all been blown out being long oil/short natty gas the last few weeks. Offices in NYC and Greenwich.
Not hedge funds and you’ve almost certainly considered, but maybe worth chasing down Riverstone and First Reserve too
