Transition from S&T to HF (struggling with accounting/valuation)

So I fucked up here...

Planning to transition to HF in the distant future, but didnt really know HF require good accounting/valuation knowledge.

Need the best of the best resources available to learn everything that is needed pretty much from zero.

Would highly appreciate any help.

Wait I thought it’s more of general technical knowledge rather than strategy specific.

In this case, could you please briefly comment on the necessary knowledge for the main hf strategies (ofc still mostly interested in accounting and valuation, but additional comments would be helpful)?

Would really appreciate that.

Instead of asking this to working people, Google and ChatGPT would be useful.

Generally, the hedge funds that will be available to you after an S&T stint don’t require valuation/accounting knowledge. Equity hedge funds prefer strongly to hire from IB and ER

Hey!

Think my original post is a bit inaccurate due to me not being a native speaker.

The question is specifically technical skills required for an hf employee based on hf strategies?

for example: long/short hf require good accounting knowledge, while macro hf not really.

Struggling to find detailed info on this via google, so asking here.
