Credit Risk vs Market Risk

Hi, I have been so far a s/w engg with 8 yr coding exp but in different domains, I now wish to develop expertise in Financial Risk domain, and have completed FRM part-1, but I am not sure which type of risk analysis I should develop expertise in - Credit Risk or Market Risk ? Could someone help how to decide?

A: Why are you posting in consulting? Credit analysis is typically not done by consulting firms in depth.

B: I have no idea what your angle is. Why is the specific database language you used important? Why do you want to work in Risk? What type of firm are you trying to lateral to?

Saying "I want something with quant" and "work life balance involved" also tells me that you don't really know yourself what you're asking. I'd suggest that you start by reading some of the interviews posted on the web about credit analysis and familiarize yourself with the basic jobs involved. Otherwise we can't help much.
