Investment advice on inflation
Hi I was wondering if someone could give me an advice on investing in index funds. I would like to invest in index funds that track S&P 500, the average return over the years has been about 9-10%. However, the inflation rate in my country is 7-8% on average. How should I invest without trying to pick the stocks and combat the inflation?
You could also invest in a different currency, so the inflation risk would be mitigated for your own or at least minimized for the new one. You are carrying the FX risk in case you'd go back to your local currency though and that can be a significant risk (I lost quite a bit b/c of Brexit and my GBP trading accounts, depending on how I transfer it back).
