1st Year Analyst and 2nd Year Analyst team dynamic

I am surprised I have not seen this on the forum before, but I very recently hit the desk at a MM bank (lean team), and I am curious what the relationship between the 1st year analyst and the 2nd year analyst is usually like. I am sure this depends on who you work with, how well you connect with each other and etc, but what does the dynamic usually look like? Sure, I have much to learn from a 2nd year analyst since he has more experience in various aspects of the job, but is the relationship normally hierarchical where he gives you comments, speaks to you as if he was in a way superior to you (but still is respectful) and etc? What is your relationship with 2nd years like?

Last year’s 2nd year analysts were complete abominations across the street. This year’s class is a bit better, but they’ll likely treat you as if they’re the associate and you are the analyst.

2nd years often check out/refuse to work and use “live deals” as an excuse for being jammed up… when in reality everyone sees them on social media snap chatting themselves at the gym/brunch in the middle of the day. There’s a chance you’ll get one of those , but hopefully you get a good one that will at least show you the ropes. Just be willing to learn and prepare to do the bulk of the work

Second years are gods gift to earth. Please handle with care. They have paid their dues for about 5 months since they actually ramped up. They know how to use an old comp file without updating the balance sheet and know chances of getting caught are <10%. They know more than any MBA associate 3 months into the job ever will. They have set gym schedule that you must respect. They celebrate birthdays on weekdays and have day long plans on Sundays. They’ll let you do everything so you can have a great experience and typically let you spin your wheel cause they are too busy with not sure what so you can learn how to figure things out.

But I have come across some who are different and we have kept in touch.
