2009 MM Associate Bonus Info

There have been some interesting data points posted on BB Associate bonuses recently but not much on the Middle Market firms. Does anyone have any information on how Piper, Cowen, Thomas Wiesel, etc are planning to pay their Associates? It's going to be interesting to see how the MM firms pay in comparison to the BB firms.

Though the MM -- especially the guys listed above -- picked up in 2H09, you must remember how barren the first half was. Even the BB saw this... associates were expecting pay to be closer to 2007 numbers rather than 2008 numbers, despite the fact that 2009 as a whole was no where near 2007... have to expect the same for MM. Analysts will probably luck out, assuming the markets continue to be hot, especially for the growth and MM firms the above target. 2010 will hopefully be a better year for associates all around.

Woops, meant to post this as well -- bonuses at my MM firm for first year associates were 120% of base for a total of $220k all-in. It's a three-tier system, and I'm not sure if this is top- or mid-tier -- didn't ask the specific associate, but know he was borderline between the two buckets. I'm guessing the +/- on buckets was $15-20k.
