BMO got absolutely hammered. ~50% down from last year. Do I work there? No. However, I got this from a first hand account.
BMO 1st year analyst :$2x,xxx
BTW...these threads usually go sideways as people are too "afraid" to post. Good luck.
Is BMO even a good benchmark for street? $20k seems awfully low. I hear ~$45k for mid but that is unconfirmed.
Will post when I get my number (1st year BB analyst)
I'm a 2nd year corp banking analyst at BMO and got a $30k+ bone this year.....IB guys got better than me.
Rumor at my MM is bonuses will be capped at $40k for 1st year analysts.
analysts at my BB got numbers today and from what I heard on my floor was 45 - 55 - 65 for first year analysts. Given the base bump was only realized half way through last years, all in numbers seem to be flat from last year.
100%+ of base for 3rd year analyst going into associate promote. MM bank.
That's awesome. Just curious, what is your current base? Is it $105k?
As an Associate 0 technically, base is $125.... up to $150 once the stub period is over.
$75k for 2nd year at MM
deleted
And you should probably edit his name out of your post.
lol RBC game stronk
edit
That other post for 65k top on 1st yrs puts 2nd yr top around 85 for BBs/EBs. Just a guess though. Anyone got #s?
The 95k for a 3rd yr seems low since last yr that was top bucket 2nd yrs were like 95 for us.
Found out numbers. We can breathe. 50k (middle bucket). That is in line with last year from what I hear
Good luck everyone else
BAML top bucket $70K
Overall range: $70K - $65K - $50K - $45K
JPM range in M&A: $60K - $50K - $40K - $10k
How many people got 10k?
Back in my analyst days (many years ago), it was about 10% of the class that would get bottom bucket in a 5 bucket system, and it was always $10k. They were basically telling you to leave.
The spread was generally 10% top, 20% 2nd, 40% 3rd, 20% 4th and 10% bottom.
My analysts are getting a 7.5k bonus and are excited!!!
MM bank 1y Analyst: 40k - 50k - 60k 2y Analyst: Top bucket, 90k
MM Bank. 150-170-190 Top Bucket all-in. Y1-Y2-Y3.
Need more 3rd year numbers!
3rd year at my bank - 75 - 85 - 95
Aren't you an associate though?
Yes but we haven't gotten our third year bonuses yet. I know...it's weird.
Did you guys only get numbers? or did bonus payout as well?
My bank we get paid out mid August, still haven't gotten my number though.
So is this 85K Base + ~45K Bonus for a first year analyst?
Yeah that's about right. Sounds like my bank was in the lower end compared to what everyone else posted, so it's probably at least $50k bonus for you
Update: 35-55 range
35 bottom bucket? How many people got that?
I think it's bottom bucket as I haven't heard of anyone else getting lower than that though it might be possible. No idea on # of people.
MM 1Y analyst: 20 - 30 - 40
is this in NYC or a regional office?
It was across all our offices. It was more of a 4 bucket system. I know 1st years received 20k, 30k, 34k, and 38.5k. There were NYC analysts who received all those. It was definitely a down year for the bank and the heavy-producing offices were understandably pissed.
My MM's buckets are group dependant. My group paid:
1st year analyst: $55,000
2nd year analyst: $70,000
I thought most banks are paying bonus after year end now!!??
Any numbers for London?
If they don't adjust for GBP weakness, the gap with the US is going to be completely ridiculous. Like 30-40% less total comp
Yeah I highly doubt it will be adjusted tbh. Gap is already ridiculous in normal times, with first years on 50kGBP vs 85kUSD. I think it's safe to assume London is also more expensive overall apart from rent.
IB in London seems like such a ripoff compared to the U.S.
Top for a couple of BBs was GBP40k
Update: Bank paid $10k more than what they told us a week ago. Received $60k
Same thing happen to anyone else?
$40k mid tier first year, well known bank.
3rd yr BB top bucket $115k
