2025 FT Help

Hi everyone,

I recently finished up my corporate banking internship this summer at a national/regional bank. Throughout the summer, they really pushed towards internal mobility and my goal was to move into a more analytical and technical role so I applied to the securitization team as it was the team that interested me the most. Turns out, the team I applied to didn't end up taking any full time analysts and as a result of me trying to switch, I didn't receive a return offer back at all.

I've been applying to pretty much any role I see within finance from IB to S&T to AM and even corporate finance rotational programs. So far, I've only been getting interviews in banking but I haven't been able to secure an offer yet. I'm not entirely sure what I even want to do, but I'm interested in direct investing roles so I explored roles S&T and ER but those positions are hard to find and I feel like there aren't many roles for FT at the moment. I also was interested in IB, mainly due to the skillset and exit opportunities, and after my internship I was definitely exposed a lot to capital markets which seemed like a good mix of what I was looking for.

I know it's still relatively early, but I was wondering if I could get an outside perspective on what types of roles and companies I should be targeting. My main focus is finding a job that is intellectually stimulating and would provide me a good knowledge and skillset base, which is why I applied to switch to securitization during my internship. I posted my resume here as well if that provides any additional context.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
