BO. And by BO I mean morning toilet cleaner.
Doesn't event get "night-shift" close to the analysts
A 3.6 from Duke means nothing by itself, positive or negative. Do you have relavent work experience? Have you prepared well for interviews? Have you networked effectively? Those all carry far more weight than a 3.6 from anywhere.
I have very solid EC's (leader of multiple clubs) and working on getting an internship and a small fixed income trading firm over the summer. I also worked as a research assistant at Fuqua over the course of this semester. I was just wondering how a 3.6 GPA sets me up for recruiting next fall.
It sets you up well enough, but Hiring managers only really care about work experience. You could be brilliant, but be an awful colleague. If a high GPA was all analysts needed, we'd be anti-social quants. Get work experience, network, and you should be fine.

GPA doesn't matter much more than as a very initial screening tool and as a sort of baseline to ensure you're not just straight dumb. But at the end of the day, it's only a number, and so many other factors are more important during recruiting. How you present and carry yourself, how intelligently you can talk about your past experiences and transferable skills, that's where the real differentiation comes in. You could have a 4.0 but still suck as a candidate. A 3.6 is a good starting point, but definitely work out how you're going to present your unique strengths.
