4 year degree, can I apply as a non-penultimate?

Title. I'm going into my second year of a 4 year degree - wanted to know if I can still apply to postings for Penultimate year students (SA26). Even if i'm unable to land anything, I feel it'd be good practice for the next recruitment cycle, the one that actually counts for me.

However, now I'm concerned that firms will be able to tell that I applied for 2 recruitment cycles. Would this come back to bite me in the next recruitment cycle, or would firms just not remember me given the sheer amount of applicants they get, even if I proceed to advanced stages this time round? Theoretically I could make a new account and email when applying for SA27 but is there anyway firms / ATS could remember me? I'd just love to have the practice and be fully confident going into the next cycle.
