AGE kind of sucks. What group?

If you're referring to IB, another poster on here put it best when he said you're kind of stuck there - there aren't great exit opps and most people who go there will stay for many years.

i was refering to the ib division.

as far being stuck there, I'm from the Midwest so that is not a huge concern.

I guess I was just wondering if the pay discount (compared to a BB) is offset by less hours? Specifically at AGE?

Anyone else have any advice on this? I have heard that hours are not as bad (~80 per week) plus they only hire from top 10 schools. Last quarter their IBD revenue shot up huge, so maybe they are doing something right... I might have heard somewhere in the past that they don't pay a very good % of revenues in bonuses though.

Can anyone confirm?

only top 10 schools? the best school they recruit at is WUSTL, nuff said

I dont know who your sources are, but their IBD team is full of Associates + Senior Bankers from Cornell, UofM (Ross), Columbia, NYU (Stern), etc.

I have heard the entire division is only about 100 people though. Plus they most definitely hire analysts from lower tier schools (Mizzou even). So maybe that is where your misinformation is coming from.

Columbia is the only top 10 school you listed...

"Plus they most definitely hire analysts from lower tier schools (Mizzou even)."

Just before you said "they only hire from top 10 schools"

yeah...

Uh, Columbia actually is the only top 10 school there

Seriously though you need to stop contradicting yourself since just before you said they only hired from top 10 schools.

Sorry I should have originally said "only hire from top 10 for Associate level on up". That is my mistake, I will acknowledge that.

Also sorry to see that UofM is 11th on the US News ranking, while Stern is also in the top 10. Also forgot to mention that "etc." included Kellogg and Chicago.
