I don't think it would be fair to expect a ton of experience from a young student who is about to start a Masters. Unlikely that these people have had significant finance mandates, one internship maybe? There are folks who collect SAs in the US, but unless you are from a finance city in Europe it is less likely to happen there.
Can't see what screening process you can't pass, except...
- lots of applicants this year and following years due to Covid deferral
- companies in general a bit more careful with hiring, partly due to Delta, vaccination outcome and general delays
In which locations are you looking? If you are not in London, Frankfurt, Zürich, maybe Amsterdam and Paris... not sure where exactly the opportunities are in your home nation.

I was in the same situation, had to move to another city to make it work. My home region didn't have anything to offer or only to exceptional candidates. And I am good, just not exceptional enough to land the internships back in the day.
From what I have read in your posts I am not from your country and also don't speak the local language. Therefore I wouldn't know where the opportunities are. Maybe others will pitch in.

Np bro. I was battling a lot of the feelings you had throughout this recruiting season but recently got 2 offers this last week. I realized that even though I got the offers and was happy, I didn't become a different person because of it. And it shouldn't.
