Am I being realistic

By way of background, I'm a super non-target senior graduating in Dec ‘25. I just finished a corp dev internship at a fortune 250 company and tbh found it a really enjoyable experience. The internship opened my eyes to the IB and strategy consulting world and since finishing up, I've heavily pursued IB analyst roles post-grad.

Now, here is where my struggles and doubtful thoughts play in. All of the ex-IB folks on the corp dev team hyped up this experience and said it would help me stick out for recruiting. I was even introduced by the team lead to a bunch of MDs at banks. I've had countless chats and been told my resume would be passed on to the recruiting team. All of this help and support and I haven't even received an interview yet. I don't want to sound discouraged (won't stop until I land a spot), but I'm confused as to why none of this hype has lead to anything tangible.

Any thoughts?

Forgot to mention: I'm aware that this is an unorthodox approach especially from a timing perspective.

With that said, I think it's reasonable to expect at least a few emails from the recruiting teams about staying in the loop, right?
