AM research Al vs IB

I was just wondering what you guys think about how the exit opps to hedge funds compare for an research associate position at a program compares to a traditional IB analyst position at either an Eb or a BB bank. It seems like you would learn more transferable skills AM, and it would be a differentiated in Hf recruiting, is this thought process correct?
