ER vs IB Offer
So, I'm in industry and have been working to pivot out of it for a few months. Turns out I have offers in ER and IB. I know, it might sound like a no brainer, only it's not. The ER gig I'd be coming in as an Associate in a BB, while the IB role would be as an Analyst at an MM.
All in all here's the breakdown:
ER Gig:
BB
ASSOCIATE 1
150K / 20 -50% bonus
IB Gig:
MM
Analyst 2/3
110-125 / don't know bonus yet, but obviously higher than ER.
If y'all were me, what would you pick?
They are different industries, you should chose whichever industry you like more.
From pure exit standpoint I would go with IB, unless its some really bad group within random MM.
Maybe I am wrong but I thought associate was the IB analyst equivalent in Equity Research?
Yeah I thought so too, but this BB explained to me they have a 3yr analyst program as well, so it's definitely the IB As1 equivalent
It is but obviously we still have to rank people so we still use An1 etc. But externally an An1 would still be a research associate.
