Which funds’ analysts use the title ‘analyst at NY-based Hedge Fund’ on LinkedIn and why? I dont understand the reasoning.

i think it is to keep things anon for the privacy of their clients. for example, i believe m klein (or a similar boutique) does not let you put that on Linkedin. might be wrong though
Might be Elliott. I saw someone on LinkedIn with that title 'Analyst at NY-Based Hedge Fund.' They eventually left that firm for another role and later updated their profile to show they were at Elliott.

A few funds require you to not disclose where you’re working.
Anything from basic privacy to threat to life if your fund is fucking someone over.
