Anyone currently at GS willing to do a quick check on a highly suspect profile?

Hey GS WSOers,

I recently came across a very suspect profile from a girl claiming to be from my alma mater (Harvard) who also claims to currently be at GS (from July 2019 to present).

First red flag, her undergrad degree is listed as "BBA, Finace (sic)"

Notwithstanding the typo, Harvard does not award Finance degrees... the closest field would be Economics. Additionally, Harvard does not use BBA (Bachelor's of Business Administration). In fact, bachelor's degrees at Harvard are noted as AB or SB (the Latin form) instead of the much more common BA or BS that most schools use.

Second red flag, she claims to have an MBA from HBS with a GPA 3.9/4.0... HBS uses unconventional grading system and does not compute GPA...

Fake Harvard credentials?

Third red flag (nail in the coffin?), I looked up the Harvard alumni directory of people with this profile's surname between 2014-2019 and got 12 results but none matching this name...

So, I am guessing this is a fake (and sloppy) profile and this person does not exist, but if someone at GS can look them up in the internal directory to confirm, I would greatly appreciate it.

probably some "invest with me" scam targeted at people who don't know how to do this kind of background checking. check out the propublica 'pig butchering' article from this week, it's shocking what people will go along with

You actually don't need to take the SIE in order to take the S79, you just need to pass both before officially becoming a registered rep. Separately, the name may not appear in BrokerCheck because the individual may be using an "American" first name on their public profile versus their legal name (assuming this is an international student).

You need the SIE but I wouldn't blame her for just listing the 79 as the SIE is understood to be passed if the 79 is relevant to list. For the 63, GS (at least some groups) don't take the test for some reason.

My guess is she's a a real person but didn't do any of this stuff she claims and is living in a dream world.

I assume she’s pretty hot otherwise makes no sense that you’re diving this deep

So you run a side business doing application coaching/resume checking and a random person is running a similar business pretending to be Harvard and GS? Ngl that's pretty smart from her

My brother in christ you should focus on touching grass and getting laid rather than asking people to look up obviously fake profiles with 0 connections

Just asked my cousin to confirm. Confirmed fake. No match of her name.

Also, it’s pretty obvious even if I don’t look up her name. Her JPM ibanking internship had a job description of trade support (operations). She had MBA immediately after her undergrad (no full-time job experience in-between). Also she went for an audit internship at EY after she had JPM internship, which doesn’t make any sense. Very low-quality faking skill
