Anyone wanna split the capital academy prep course with me?

Thinking of purchasing the course to prep for a RX role im starting in the near future - its $500 so wanted to see if anyone is interested in splitting the cost and sharing it. It covers Modeling, Decks, and a unique course on RX and Special Sits.

Congrats on the new role - been seeing your posts for the past year and glad to see the work paid off. Could you share what you think made you stand out the most in your rx interviews? Starting a PC role soon and looking to make a similar move to you.

Thank you, really appreciate the kind words.

I think it was just putting the time in to prep by reading the standard rx guides online, following RX cases, reading the books about Credit/Distressed, practicing modeling by taking the courses to get good at LBOs and a shit ton of practice with chatGPT + online cases I could source myself and it also took me several tries (I had processes with multiple RX teams of which I got dinged in several in the final stage). Having a strong story and motivations for making the move was also a big driver coming from my very non-target background.

Hey guys, Anyone can give me a review of Capital Academy course? I can’t find any on the internet. I really like what I saw on their website.

Honestly, I think they cover the pure basic fundamentals perfectly. I think they miss on explaining some portions like WHY we are doing certain things in the model especially when it comes to their LBO section. There's a lot of things that just show up and you just have to accept it as is or do some further research. However, they cover so much information that gets you started working rather than figuring things out. Ex: Their module on dividend recaps took me forever to figure out on the internet, but they covered twice in less than 10 minutes and it made so much more sense coming back to the internet to figure out what was going on. I think their RX course is okay.  Again a lot of assumptions made of your understanding of what's going on in RX by default, but it has condensed a ton of great information off the bat that you don't have to look for THAT much information.

Additionally, after finishing it, you can crack open any other buyside case study from easy - medium difficulty and finish on your own if you just memorize the steps rather than memorizing the concept. Streamlined a huge process would recommend. Same thing for any student doing an equity research pitch (if you're at a non-target with a bad investment club) you'll stand out from the rest just by default.

They're more true to their model of teaching you to be ready to do the job before you hit the desk and shouldn't be treated as the best resource to break in per se. I think if you are interested in credit which is both of the brothers background I think it makes more sense to have that technical knowledge from the LBO section. But I don't think it's the best resource if you're trying to break into investment banking, given my understanding is that IB recruitment leans more toward networking, behaviorals, and technical mastery over pure modeling skill. Their recruitment modules aren't like here's why these technicals work this way its more of here's a short overview.

Overall, I think it's a great foundational resource if you are completely new to how everything works. They focus a lot on simplifying over-explained processes down to the foundation. For ex: Combining WC into one line item instead of breaking down each WC in the CFS which some other resources do and then explaining it all holistically. Each video is accompanied by an excel to just test it out to see how it works. Then it's pretty much on your own to go figure out how to apply it, which shouldn't be difficult.

Also the guys running it are smart people who really care about their product by far. Sounds like a big ad here, but want to give out some real review.
