Approaching banks that do not do OCRs in my (Target) school

I am a student at a "supertarget" (HYP). Unfortunately, elite boutiques (Greenhill, Lazard, Houlihan, Moelis, PJT, etc.) do not do OCRs here or any active recruitment. Only 5 to 6ish BBs and BNP Paribas recruits here. and a couple There are zero analysts (minus Lazard, which has... two. Apparently a lot of people apply, but they get ghosted hard) from my school at EBs, and this is also killing my networking chances too. What should I do to stand out of the crowd and appeal to elite boutiques?

The smaller banks often has a problem going to all schools, simply due to the time spent vs a full SA class of maybe 10-20 students.

If you reach out to current analysts/associates/VP’s and you do it in a nice, polite and friendly manner it should not be an issue getting an interview. With smaller banks in non nyc offices you could run into problems that they are not going to fly in one person and they are not going to fly up to do the interview on campus. From Yale that trip should be easy for New York and if you are looking at a regional office then just be in good time, and try to meet up with them when/if you are in that area for some other reason.

None of the banks you mentioned would purposely ghost a candidate with a good gpa from any of the schools you mentioned.
