Are these NY EBs in 2020? (Moelis, EVR, LAZ, PJT, CV, GUGG, GHL, PWP)

I consider all of these to be EBs but I would like to hear why others don't include them all?

Moelis, Lazard, PJT, Evercore, PWP, Centerview, Greenhill and Guggenheim

this will surely generate a lot of civil, constructive conversation

Controversial

GHL is not a EB anymore. Guggenheim is the newest addition to the EB ranks as of late last year for most groups, however class sizes are very large. A shame, they were growing so fast and decided to likewise rapidly expand their analyst class without quality control. Still see very good things in the future for them. Here’s the objective ranking:

  1. PJT
  2. EVR
  3. CV
  4. Moelis/Laz
  5. PWP
  6. Guggenheim

GHL and maybe even Gugg analysts will MS me but these rankings are not picked out of my ass they are after hundreds of hours of research and speaking with people on the street. Good day

I’m doing all the work for you all. You should be thanking me. I’m a very powerful being and I understand and see my place in the cosmos. This is my destiny. What can you say about your own existence?

Agreed, this does not matter. Everybody has different opinions depending on what factor matters to them. If you got an offer from any of these banks just be grateful.

I agree. In the end the relatively small perceived difference in prestige between all of these places from a bunch of interns and incoming analysts doesn’t matter. It’s also very group dependent when it comes to rankings. For the record I think GHL is really underrated in terms of their junior staff and is definitely still an EB. They have had exits to the same places as other top EBs you mention here

I'd say Rothschild and GHL are both EBs. Rothschild is a very good shop

Roths in the US is definitely not a EB that's ridiculous. Focus on US rankings people!! No one cares what is happening in London if you're working in NYC!
